Ruth McKinney Smith, age 88, of Canton, GA passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Milton Senior Living. She was employed at Kennestone Hospital from 1966 - 1991, surgical floor nurse from 1966-1969 and was transferred to the E. R. and worked there all the remaining years of employment. In 1976 she was named employee of the month and also E. R. employee of the month in 1980's. Ms. Smith was a dedicated nurse and patient advocate.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, on Monday, April 02, 2018, from the Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, April 01, 2018, and from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday, April 02, 2018 at South Canton Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by, Parents: Carter and Nellie Greene, Son: Marcus McKinney, Brother: Hubert Greene, Sister: Lucille Hester
