Eugene John Ridings, 80, of Canton, peacefully died on August 27, 2017 at home surrounded by family and friends.

Visitation will be 3:00pm - 6:00pm on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his home (35 Orchard Drive, Canton, GA).

Funeral services will be held following visitation at 7:00pm at First Baptist Church Holly Springs (Georgia) with Senior Pastor, Rev. Phillip Young and Student Pastor, Rev. William Botts, officiating. Burial will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Georgia National Cemetery.

Contributions to the Youth Ministry of FBC Holly Springs will honor his memory in lieu of flowers. He always had a heart to mentor others and found particular joy in working with these teenagers.

Born in New York City, New York, to Howard and Marion, he is survived by beloved wife, Susan Elizabeth; children, Stacy Ann, Eugene Joseph, and April Ann; brothers- and sisters-in-law
Scott, Donna, Nelson, Tracy, Mark, and Mary Ellen; father-in-law Paul; seven grandchildren; special cousin Marilyn; and many friends and colleagues around the world.

A devoted member of First Baptist Church Holly Springs, he leaves
behind a legacy of love and kindness. He will be missed beyond measure.
