Condolence: I want to offer my condolences to the Herndon family and friends. It is a painful thing to lose a love one in death; even Jesus, when Lazarus died, "gave way to tears"(John 11: 35). It pains our Creator, too, and he has promised to bring our love one back to life at Isaiah 26:19 "Your dead will rise ...Awake and shout joyfully you residents in the dust! ...the earth will let those powerless in death come to life" then "he will swallow up death forever …"(Isaiah 25:8). I hope these words give you comfort.

Condolence: I met Mr.and Mrs. Herndon in 1994 but it felt as though I've known them all my life. Even though initially they were my landlords, they quickly became more like family. They watched my sons grow up to be young men. They were a support system for my family when my health began to fail. And they anchored me when my husband was called home to be with God last year. Mr. Herndon was a man that didn't forget his own humble beginnings. And he was willing to give you a chance to do the right thing. So to him I say thank you....thanks for being the kind man you were to so many. And I thank the Lord for sharing him with us. Rest in paradise.
