Obituary for Suzan Minon Lam (Akers)

Suzan Minon Lam (58) of Canton, GA peacefully passed away at home to be with her Savior on Sunday morning, February 28, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. At her side was her husband, Bill of 36 years and their three children, her special treasures.

Suzan was a gifted mother and teacher. She prayed early in her marriage that she would be a “godly” mother, not just a good mother. The Lord granted her request and so today we rise up and call her blessed. She raised Amy, Billy and Mandy with love, encouragement, happiness and respect. At an early age each child accepted Christ as their Savior and continue to walk with the Lord today.

Suzan’s passion was an unwavering devotion to her family. She was a helpmate to her husband, Bill. For many years she had a riding lesson program at the family farm where she touched many lives. Those who knew her can say with absolute certainty she fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. Even near the end of her life when her health had significantly declined her morning devotions included thanksgiving and praises to the Lord for His tender mercies and blessings.

Visitation at South Canton Funeral Home 3147 Marietta Hwy Canton, GA 30114 on Wednesday 3/2 from 5-9 pm and Thursday 3/3 from 5-9 pm. Suzan’s celebration of life will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 4096 E Cherokee Dr Canton, GA 30115 at 2 pm Friday, March 4, 2016, with Pastor Rob Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Arbor Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 696 Arbor Hill Road, Canton, GA. 30115.
