Obituary for James Eugene "Gene" Black

James Eugene "Gene" Black, 75, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, Dec. 15, 2014.
Born in Ringgold Oct. 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Dorothy Reeves Herring.
Mr. Black was of the Baptist faith and a longtime member of Little Refuge Baptist Church in Waleska.
He is survived by wife, Eloise Black; daughter, Patricia Poole and her husband, Paul, of Waleska; sons, Anthony Black, and Phillip Black and wife Kathy of Waleska; grandchildren, Matt and Jessica Loeding, Brandon and Jennifer Denson, Jacob and Hollie Poole, Cody, Clinton, Clay, Ashlyn, Alivia and Cole Black; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the residence, 1683 Little Refuge Road, Waleska, with the Revs. Lloyd Burgess and Robert Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery at Little Refuge Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Cody Black, Jacob Poole, Clinton Black, Clay Black, Cole Black, Matt Loeding and Brandon Denson.
The family will receive friends at the residence from 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, until the funeral hour.
