Obituary for Frank Guthrie

Frank  Guthrie
Frank Guthrie, age 86, of Woodstock, GA passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at North Fulton Hospital.

He opened the first independent auto body shop in Roswell, Ga in 1955. He continued running his business for 60 plus years. He was the owner of a stock car auto racing team that won several short track races from the 1950's to the 1970's. He was most proud of his car winning one of the races at the Florida Speedweek Dirt Track Classic in Deland, Fl in 1971.

After exiting the racing business, he became an avid weekly golfer with a few of his close friends and family. He was a hard working man, whether it was at his profession, at his hobby, or for his family, he will be deeply missed and loved by his friends and family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, on Sunday, September 28, 2014, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, September 26, 2014, and from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Saturday, September 27, 2014 at South Canton Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by: Son - Wayne Guthrie 3 Brothers and 2 Sisters

Survivors include:
Wife - Susan Guthrie, Woodstock
Son - Allan Guthrie, Taylorsville, KY
Grandchildren - Blake Guthrie, Amanda Guthrie and Tracy Maddox
Several Great-Grandchildren

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Disabled American Veteran, Operation Christmas Child, The Salvation Army and The Atlanta Mission.
