Obituary for Francis "Frank" Vollono

Francis "Frank" Peter Vollono age 86, of Canton, GA passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at The Terraces at Riverstone.



Funeral Services are scheduled for 12:30 PM, on Tuesday, July 24, at the Our Lady of LaSalette Church with father Victor Reyes officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, at South Canton Funeral Home.



Mr. Vollono entered the Navy during WW2, and also served in Vietnam with the Seebees (Naval Construction Battalian). He was stationed in Long Island, NY, Virginia Beach, Va. Gulfport, Ms., Lewes, De and Bermuda. He retired in August of 1979 with over 30 years of service.



He married the love of his life in the summer of 1952, Marie Lorraine Desilets(who preceded him in death). Together they had 5 children, Donna (Hal) Armstrong, Frances (Chris) Scocos, Cmdr. Clinton Vollono (Ret.), Lorraine Vollono Young, and Robert (Mary) Vollono. 19 grand children, and 11 great grandchilren. Frank's extended family include: Neice: Linda (Ralph) Tesauro, his long time Shipmate Lt. Cmdr Tom Cooper and his best friend and "adopted daughter" Winona Omasta. Frank was also preceded in death by his second wife of 13 years, Doreen Vollono.



The Vollono family would like to thank the staff of Transsitions Hospice and Emeritus Senior Living, and a special heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Shelly Kidd of Brightstar Healthcare.



Many who knew Frank will miss his wit and charm and his favorite lines: "Hello Darlin" and "Where hell have you been!"
