Obituary for Bobby Oglesby

Bobby Lee Oglesby passed away at the age of 65 at his home in Canton, GA, on May 22, 2010. Son of the late Virgil and Nellie Cooper Oglesby, Mr. Oglesby also was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann, and his brother, William. Born in Memphis, TN, Bobby grew up in Evansville, IN and Gainesville, FL. He then enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force, including a tour of duty in the Viet Nam War. Afterwards, he worked as a nurse in Atlanta with over thirty year of exemplary and caring service at West Paces Ferry and Emory University Hospitals. Bobby is survived by his brothers, Virgil W. Oglesby and wife Grace of Brandon, Fl; James R. Oglesby and wife Doris of Evansville, IN; and his sister, Betty Oglesby Whitescarver and her husband Marion of Yalaha, FL and their children, Keith Whitescarver and wife Jacequeline of West Hartford, CT, and Teri Whitescarver of Yalaha, Fl; along with several nieces and nephews and grand-neices and grand-nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock on Thursday, May 27 at 4:30 pm with a service following at 5:30 pm. Flowers will be accepted at South Canton Funeral Home and Chapel on Thursday morning. Burial services will occur at Lewisburg Cemetery in Lewisburg, KY, on Sunday, May 30 at 2:00. A visitation for family and friends in Lewisburg will be held at the Price Funeral Home from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. South Canton Funeral Home (770) 479-3377.
